Grab Mobile Platform; Because Architecture matters

This was one of the internships I took on during a gap year I took, in an attempt to break away from societal norms, prusue what I love, and learn from the best.

During my 6-month internship stint at Grab, I was given the opportunity to work with their incredible android mobile platform team, which extended such immense hospitality.

Being in grab was one of the most exciting experiences of my life. Isaw the inner working that powered the super app that powers and gives opportunities to all of Soueast Asia. Touching the lives of many, propelled by the 4 Hs.Heart, Humility, Honour and Hunger.

The Day to Day:

Here in the android in the architecture team, we design kits, maintain the pipeline, and also monitor the weekly release for the Pax-android app.

The opportunity to work with people from all over the world within my group was one of the great experiences i had in Kargo, and hre in Grab, it waas the same. I got to work with a team of all foreigners, coming from Russia, Taiwan, China , Bangladesh and Egypt. The diversity really gives you perspective towards the mobility of software engineers. Not only did i get the opportunity to learn to develop feaytures using the best practices, i was involved in deep debates on the best single cross platform architecture to implement moving forward.

Final thoughts:

I want to thank Alex for the endless support from him. Never had I had a manager who was so busy yet so dedicated to ensure those under him was given all the required tools to work. Thank you XJ, Nibir, Omar, Maryna, Mikhail, and of course Alex for the guidance.
